Art and our economy today
It is interesting that something will gain in mounetory value when the demand for that product grows. How does this play out in our world today. If the demand grows but the amount of the substance does not get bigger it goes to reason the the price will go up drastically and indefinately if the demand holds up the pressure. That is why the Art work of masters that died many centuries ago will fetch very high prices - given there is a great interest in that specific artist and the number of available paintings are known and well documented.
What can an Artist do about this interesting fact other than die to become famous. I think firstly that you should document your art work very well. Especially from this very day if you have not done so before. Know who bought your work and for what prices. Number two: where do you want to market your art where it will be appreciated over a long period of time. Good collections, long term institutions... Viable markets are not created by obscure and places that are in faship but without substance. And thirdly: value your own work, do not compromise on quality or quantity. Set goals and work steadily towards accomplishing those goals
And lastly: Eat healthy, regulary excercise, sleep enough and plan to live and work for a very long time - until you can eat of the fruit of the labour of a life time.

Technology and the Artist
Technology is not much part of our art as it is part of our daily lives. There is no way around the fact that technoloy has leap on to us in such a phenominal way, that the older generation that thought they do not have to take part in it had to acquire things like computers and cellphones, skype and internet.
There are great benefits in this new technology with such variety of apllication that technology itself has become somewhat of a focus in our lives. Just talking about things like computers and digital cameras we had to take the plunge und emerge ourself in learning new languages of going things. In a sense this a created competition for the actual production and creation of Art. Balancing the stretch between the two parts of our lives, persue of knowledge and the producin of product.
Unless we keep prioritising we might end up beindgswallowed up by something that was never our goal in the first place. The machines taking over the world - scary movie - robots becoming the master and man the slave. Keep the technology the conveyer beld and keep it from becoming the destination or you will end up going round and round like the baggage belts in airports. You need to go somewhere. Get off sometimes and do not stay parked on the belt. Art is still our main focus. O but what wonderful potential in things like the internet.
